WOMEN AND OTHER EXHIBITS

From a bloated walrus to a carnally reticent jellyfish, what we preserve in our museums, what we care for and study, says as much about us as it reveals about the items themselves.

What began as a very personal response to the displays she encountered on visits to her local museum has out-grown its boots, and threatens to become a nuanced and subtly political exploration into what we choose to put on show, and what that says about us as a nation and as individuals.

At a time when hard-won freedoms seem to be in question all over again this show asks: why do we have to keep looking backwards? What are we going to learn from a bunch of museum exhibits? And why is there an overstuffed walrus in the corner…?

With her signature mix of dark comedy, engaging story-telling, and delicate cello, Chloe will start to unpick the strands that tie us to our misconceptions, before they unravel completely. She’s about to find out just how political the personal can be!

Life in a glass case looks a lot less chaotic, but it probably doesn’t tell the whole story…
